KBW | How To Get That Healthy, Youthful Glow For Your Skin

Mar 05, 2021

We All Want Youthful, Glowing Skin...

But as with anything... to really get results, you have to target it from MULTIPLE angles - not just at the level of "skincare."

 So, let’s break it down….

First Step for Glowing Skin: Boost Natural ๐‚๐Ž๐‹๐‹๐€๐†๐„๐

Collagen is what gives young people’s skin that youthful, plump glow, and unfortunately, after age 25, collagen production begins to decline. This lack of collagen contributes to fine lines and wrinkles. Luckily, there are a few things we can do to boost collagen production and slow collagen breakdown.

 Tips for boosting your collagen:

You can boost it directly with bone broth or collagen supplements.

My personal favorite supplement is Designs for Health Pure Paleo Protein powder. I make a protein shake with this vanilla or chocolate-flavored pure collagen every. single. morning. If you’d like to try it yourself, you can get 10% off here.

You can also support collagen indirectly with supplements like Organifi Glow.

This superfood powder I drink every morning post-workout is high in hyaluronic acid and tremella mushroom, which support collagen production and hydration. Sadly, Organifi Glow is available only seasonally, so when it is available - STOCK UP! If you want to save on Organifi, use code: KBWellness and save 15% off

Second Step for Glowing Skin: Pay Attention to Nutrient Deficiencies

Your skin might be dull because you are deficient in key nutrients. Common deficiencies that impact the skin are ๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ฏs ๐˜ˆ, ๐˜‰, ๐˜Š, and ๐˜ป๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ค. (All of these are important in overall health, too, by the way!)

Each of these key nutrients plays a vital role in your body. If your body is deficient in any of them, your skin isn’t on the top of the list. In fact, it is probably one of the last places to get “restored.”

You need to make sure you are getting enough nutrients for each part of your body to be functioning at its best. A good way to begin is by ensuring that you get a variety of foods in your diet. Eating a variety of meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and herbs is a great first step to increasing the nutrient density of your diet. If you are struggling to get the proper amount of nutrients in your diet, reach out to a nutrition expert! In my new group program, the KB Code, I discuss nutrient density in depth.  Third Step for Healthy Skin: Gut Health, of Course!

It might seem like your gut is linked to everything, and that's because it pretty much is! Gut health is responsible for everything from gut bacteria and intestinal inflammation to food allergies, intestinal permeability, parasites, viruses, and more.

Leaky gut, in particular, has been correlated specifically with dry skin problems, eczema, acne, and rashes.

If you want healthy skin, you need to begin with a healthy gut.

To achieve a healthy gut, I recommend working closely with a professional in the following areas:

  • Replacing problematic food with healing foods. ('Problematic' foods vary for each individual person, so finding what YOUR problematic foods are is important).

  • Increasing your nutrient density.

  • Removing endocrine-disrupting toxins.

  • Removing pathogenic bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc., and replacing them with healthy probiotics. For more information on probiotics, I did an informational video on how to choose the right ones for you, which can be found below! I do lots of short, accessible videos on the interesting topic of wellness. To see even more videos by me follow this link to my channel!

Finally, Let’s Talk About The Skin products You Use!

When you use poor quality skin care products, they do not include enough moisture to act as a barrier to protect your skin the way your skin needs.

Our face and neck shed skin cells at a faster rate than the rest of our bodies. This means they require even MORE moisture to keep them hydrated. Dehydrated cells = no glow, and remember; we’re going for a youthful glow here!

My recommendation for skincare products is ๐˜‰๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜บ ๐˜Š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ. I trust the quality, ingredients, and company standards. I have more in-depth blog posts on Beauty Counter linked here → and a free skin consultation linked here → too!

Another recommendation I have is Red Light Therapy

I use Luminous Red, which you can grab for $20.00 off by clicking here →

Red light therapy is great for more than getting glowing skin. It can also be used to boost cell energy and repair, regulate hormones, help regenerate hair loss, and more!

Whether you need to swap out your products for higher quality, focus on your nutrition, take collagen supplements, or heal your gut - glowing skin is right around the corner for you.
